Elprom Heavy Industries has completed the manufacturing, delivery, installation and commissioning of two power transformers for Cirava PV, one of the largest solar projects in the Baltic region. The units were supplied to Sunotec Latvia and connect the park to Latvia’s 330 kV transmission grid.
Project at a glance
Project: Cirava PV, Dienvidkurzeme Municipality, Latvia
New customer: Sunotec Latvia
Park capacity: 400 MWp solar PV, co-located with 600 MWh of battery storage
Scope: Design, manufacture, delivery, installation and commissioning
Power transformers: 2 power transformers, 110/140 MVA, 330/31.5 kV
Connecting a 400 MWp solar park to the grid
A solar park of this size needs step-up transformers that carry its output reliably to the high-voltage network. For Cirava PV, Elprom Heavy Industries supplied two 110/140 MVA, 330/31.5 kV units, linking the park to the national transmission grid through a new 330 kV substation. These transformers are developed to withstand harsh environmental conditions and work without interruption.
Delivered on a short timeline
The project required a short delivery schedule. Elprom Heavy Industries runs the full production cycle in-house, from design and manufacturing to testing in our accredited laboratory, so we could plan every stage around the deadline and keep the schedule under our own control.
From quotation to energization.
Our scope did not end at the factory gate. Elprom Heavy Industries engineers and supervisors carried out installation and commissioning on site in Latvia, giving the customer one point of responsibility from order to energisation.
